La Catrina y El Cuerpito - What are we without our body? La Catrina y el Cuerpito is about reminding people that they are more than their thoughts and their brain; they are also physical, warm, living, and feeling bodies. La Catrina will stand on a corner of Oakland and hand out body parts: arms, legs, organs,etc. made of card board to people walking by. The purpose of this performance is intervention; to get people to feel, at that moment, their physical body. As a public intervention, La Catrina will have (or not) the effect and meaning that she will have on a public that each day becomes more and more dormant to the present and pulsating world it inhabits.
